About

Hatimatha (Elephant Head Hill), known locally in indigenous Tripura language as 'Mongpa Khai', is a dramatic mountain ridge near Khagrachhari town whose natural peak shape closely resembles the forehead and trunk of a wild elephant. To access the peak, tourists climb a famous long steep iron staircase attached directly to the mountain face, leading to panoramic 360-degree viewpoints over surrounding valley ranges. It is an adventurous hiking hotspot offering breathtaking cloud-watching and sunset views.
